This design features the dental insignia (aka emblem, symbol, logo) at the center with personalization in a circle around the emblem. You can customize the name of the dental school, as well as the name of the dentist and the year they graduated.
It is perfect for a personalized / customized gift for a dentist for their graduation, for a special occasion, for a dentist that is hard to buy for just because!
We chose to accent the background with the color lilac from the official dental insignia because lilac conveys compassion, purpose and inspiration AND Dental graduates today incorporate purple on their caps and gowns.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSIGNIA / EMBLEM / LOGO:
The American Dental Association started using this insignia as the official symbol of dentistry in 1965. The emblem of dentistry is taken from Asclepius, a Greek god of medicine and healing. His symbol is a physician’s staff with a snake wrapped around it. The snake’s shedding of skin represented healing and rejuvenation. In honor of Asclepius, ancient Greeks would use non-venomous snakes in healing rituals and let them crawl freely on the floor among the sick and injured.
On the periphery of the emblem, you will notice two Greek letters, Delta ( Δ ) and Omicron ( Ο ). Delta represents dentistry, and Omicron is a symbol for odont, or tooth. The word “Dentistry” is inscribed upon the bottom half of the circle.
The interior of the circle is a particular shade of purple called lilac, which dates back to the National Association of Dental Faculties in 1897. To this day, dental graduates use purple in their gowns and caps, and the color is often found in dental publications.
In the center of the insignia there is snake coiled around a physician’s staff comes from Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing. Behind the snake there are two branches bearing 20 berries and 32 leaves representative of the permanent and temporary teeth.

Finding the exact fabric for an upcoming project can be a nightmare. Have you ever envisioned a fabric, but then you werent able to find your ideal pattern and color in the store? With our Design Center, youll be able to craft the perfect fabric that looks exactly as you imagined and purchase this fabric by the yard. The finished product will be a high-quality fabric complete with any colors, patterns, pictures, or graphics that your heart desires.
We offer four different personalized fabrics that you choose from, so that you may find the one that suits you and your projects needs. While each fabric has a slightly different width, you can order each fabric up to 10 yards, with the minimum for the order being 1 yard.
Our first custom fabric is a spun polyester. The tightly woven nature of this spun polyester fabric makes it stiffer, durable, and wrinkle-resistant. The cut is 58 inches wide and comes with a frayed white border to allow for optimal cutting. This fabric is best suited for upholstery and medium weight decor; it works wonderfully as napkin rings, backdrops, dining chair covers, and more!
We also offer a cotton twill fabric (168 thread count), complete with a diagonal weave that resembles corduroy. This cut measures approximately 54 inches wide. This fabric also includes a white frayed edge that allows for optimal cutting when working on your projects. Due to the special nature of the weave, this fabric is a bit lighter than our spun polyester but heavier than our PIMA spun cotton. The medium-weight weave makes it perfect for table runners, napkin rings, and other home decor items.
Our third is a combed cotton fabric (240 thread count), which contains longer cotton fibers that make the fabric softer and more durable than your average cotton. The PIMA combed cotton has a width of 56 inches and is accompanied by a frayed white border to ensure an optimal cut when crafting. This type of combed cotton is very light-weight and long-lasting, making it ideal for any apparel.
The final fabric we offer is faux linen (160 thread count), which has a much looser weave and is ideal for table decor and any throw pillows you wish to make. The Copeland faux linen has quite a visible texture but is still durable. The cut has a width of 58 inches and has a frayed white border to make cutting easier. Use this fabric for indoor chair cushions, minor upholstery, and table linens.
