INFORMATION ABOUT THE INSIGNIA / EMBLEM / LOGO:

The American Dental Association started using this insignia as the official symbol of dentistry in 1965. The emblem of dentistry is taken from Asclepius, a Greek god of medicine and healing. His symbol is a physician’s staff with a snake wrapped around it. The snake’s shedding of skin represented healing and rejuvenation. In honor of Asclepius, ancient Greeks would use non-venomous snakes in healing rituals and let them crawl freely on the floor among the sick and injured.

On the periphery of the emblem, you will notice two Greek letters, Delta ( Δ ) and Omicron ( Ο ). Delta represents dentistry, and Omicron is a symbol for odont, or tooth. The word “Dentistry” is inscribed upon the bottom half of the circle.

The interior of the circle is a particular shade of purple called lilac, which dates back to the National Association of Dental Faculties in 1897. To this day, dental graduates use purple in their gowns and caps, and the color is often found in dental publications.

In the center of the insignia there is snake coiled around a physician’s staff comes from Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing.  Behind the snake there are two branches bearing 20 berries and 32 leaves representative of the permanent and temporary teeth.

Included in this set is our smallest suitcase - the 20" carry on - and our smallest hard shell backpack - the 13" kids backpack. This allows for your child to have all of their essentials packed in their own suitcase and pack their activities and snacks in their own backpack.

The 20" suitcase is 22 inches tall, 14.5 inches wide, and 9.5 inches deep. It has 4 swiveling wheels to make rolling easy, a handle that can be extended to pull along easily, and a handle on top and on the side for easy loading.

Both the suitcase and the backpack will be personalized on the front while the back is a sleek charcoal color. The inside of the suitcase has a strap on the right to easily secure your clothes while the left side has two large pockets and a zipper pocket to keep your smaller items.

The suitcase features a TSA approved lock mechanism to allow you to keep the belongings inside secure. The handle extends to two different settings to make rolling through airport a cinch. 4 swiveling wheels make for easy maneuverability even by younger children.

The 13" backpack is 13.75 inches tall, 9.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. It has two main sections inside and shoulder straps for easy carrying for kids from ages 4-12. The main section inside the backpack is padded and is perfect for a small tablet or iPad.
